Classic TT atmosphere grows with Festival of Jurby in full swing

The Classic TT action moves to the North of the Island today with the Vintage Motorcycle Club's Festival of Jurby

Starting from 10am, 210 of the Vintage Motorcycle Club's members will parade their machines on the former airfield at Jurby.

Other parades include the past masters parade featuring TT and Manx Grand Prix riders who have been on the podium and the Manx Grand Prix Riders Association parade.

Many of the stars who have been appearing at the Classic TT Races including current racers John McGuinness, Bruce Anstey, Gary Johnson, Dan Cooper, Olie Linsdell, Ian Lougher and Michael Dunlop.

A number of the legends on the island for yesterday's Joey Dunlop 'The Rivals' parade will also be appearing today including Carl Fogarty, Mick Grant, Graeme Crosby, Philip McCallen, Steve Plater, Rob McElnea, Charlie Williams and Neil Hodgson.

Iconic machines due to appear include Bill Ivy's 350cc factory-built two stroke Jawa from 1969 that Sammy Miller will be bringing over from his famous museum as well as his 1854 RS54 factory Rennsport BMW.

The National museum is bringing two of the TT's most iconic bikes;  Steve Hislop's 1992 Senior TT winning 'white charger Norton NRS 588 and Robert Dunlop's JPS Rotary Norton.

Two very special Sidecar outfits will also be on show at the festival.  You can see the 500c Rennsport machine raced by Fritz Scheidegger in the 1965 and '66 TT's and a 1872 Dieter Busch outfit. Both ex-works BMW's will be completing parade laps during the day.

As well as the parades, demonstrations and displays there will also be the opportunity to meet many of the leading stars at the event, which is scheduled to finish at around 5pm today.
