Senior TT winning BMWs make Classic TT appearance with historic bikes
The BMW 'Kompressor' that Georg 'Schorsch' Meier raced to victory in the 1939 Senior TT returned to the Isle of Man during the recent Classic TT Races.
The bike made a historic appearance alongside Michael Dunlop and the 2014 BMW S 1000 RR bike that Dunlop won the Superbike and Senior TT Races on earlier this year, 75 years after Meier's historic victory.
The BMW Group Classic brought the impressive 500cc supercharged flat-twin BMW, complete with the original hand painted number 49, that Meier raced in the 1939 TT, as part of the 2014 Classic TT festival. It was also ridden in the Classic Racer Lap of Honour by Meier's nephew Wolfgang.
