Saturday qualifying report
Bruce Anstey took the opportunity to get another lap in, only his second of the meeting, on the Valvoline Racing by Padgetts Motorcycles Yamaha YZR 500 in the Superbike qualifying session for the 2016 Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts, which followed today’s Bennetts Senior Classic TT.
The kiwi went quicker than his only other completed lap on Thursday with a time of 121.435 (18:38.522) to set himself up for Monday’s Motorsport Merchandise Classic TT Race.
Dean Harrison, fresh from his second place in the Senior Classic TT, topped the session with a time of 121.811 (18:35.073) on his Silicone Engineering Kawasaki from Dan Kneen (121.711/ 18:35.984) on the Mistral Racing Kawasaki.
In the Junior session Alan Oversby riding the Davies Motorsport Honda and Michael Rutter on the Ripley Land Racing Honda both improved on their fastest of the week with 100.964 (22:25.310) and 100.372 (22:33.250) respectively but Michael Dunlop again showed that he will be the man to beat with a lap of 101.905/ 22:12.886.
