I'm absolutely stunned. I went to school with John. I would like to pay tribute to a remarkable guy. TT rider, mountaineer and adventurer. Few people can have achieved so much in their lives. My thoughts are with his family.

A real shock a genuine nice man who would help anyone.i had the pleasure to help him out at the TT and southern 100 races. our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.

Knew John for over 20 years and he raced one of my bikes once. A real gentleman adventurer. Will be sorely missed. RIP John and God speed.

RIP John, it takes real guts to do what you did at the TT and it as always sad to hear when someone loses their life.
