Popular racer Guy Martin believes everything is in place for a strong showing at the TT during the Centenary.
He said his performance at the North West 200 on Saturday shows the Hydrex Honda team is in good shape ahead of the Isle of Man TT, which starts on May 26.
He is due to contest the Bennetts Superbike TT, PokerStars Superstock TT, PokerStars Supersport TT and the Senior TT, sponsored by PokerStars, around the famous Mountain Circuit.
Martin, of Kirmington, took a second, two thirds, a fourth and an eighth during the Northern Ireland road race. Although disappointed with his eighth place in the second Supersport race at the Triangle, Martin said his other race performances have filled him with hope for the TT.
The 25-year-old said:
'Everything felt good today and, although it would have been nice to have got our first win, we beat some of the top boys and are in excellent shape heading to the TT.'
'The team have put in a tremendous amount of effort this week and they deserved the results as much as anyone, so let's hope we can make it onto the top step of the box at the TT.'
This weekend Martin will be back in action at the next round of the British Supersport Championship, but he admitted his focus is on the Isle of Man event.
He said:
'I just want to go and learn a bit more and get ready for the TT, that is what it is all about.'
'Everything is in place for a good job at the TT.'
However, Martin admitted there is still some work to do ahead of the TT following his eighth-place finish in the second Supersport race at the North West, which was won by Bruce Anstey - the five-times TT winner who claimed three race victories in Northern Ireland.
Martin said:
'We are learning and need to tweak the electrics for the TT.'
'The motor is good, it is just the electrics letting it down, but we will get there.'
