Hutchy back on form
Conditions, two hours before road were due for closing for the final practice session of the 2007 TT were ideal, with blue skies, sunshine and very little breeze.
With just under an hour before the TT Course is closed to the public, conditions are even better, with clear blue skies.
Yet again a road traffic accident caused at 15-minute delay to proceedings.
When the solos got away, it was the Relentless Suzuki Superbike’s of Adrian Archibald and Bruce Anstey who were off first, followed by John McGuinness on his 600 HM Plant Honda and Martin Finnegan on the Superstock MV.
Third pair away was Ian’s Hutchinson and Lougher.
Fastest through the Sulby speed trap was Ian Hutchinson at 186.9mph.
Two other competitors managed over 180 were Chris Palmer at 183.4mph and Ryan Farquhar at 182.4mph.
The session was then red flagged due to an incident at Black Dub, near Glen Helen, where the hedge was on fire, necessitating the Fire Brigade’s attendance.
The incident apparently involved Jim Hodson, Victor Gilmore and Michael Weynand.
Jim was OK; Victor has a shoulder injury and Michael an ankle injury.
Michael Rutter got the session restarted at 19:50 for a one lap ‘dash’, prior to the Sidecars commencing their final practice for TT2007.
Bruce Anstey went through the speed trap at 187.500mph, Chris Palmer at 185.400mph and Michael Rutter 177.100mph.
Chairs away, led by Dave Molyneux and Rick Long, they go through the Sulby Speed Trap at 138.9mph and complete their lap at 112.778mph.
John Holden/Andrew Winkle lapped at 111.235mph and Allan Schofield and Peter Founds managed 110.167mph.
Most crews pulled in after completing one lap.
Steve Norbury went through the speed trap at 141mph on their second circuit.
20:50 and the Chequered flag was shown to all competitors, bringing 2007 TT Practice week to a close.
