Moly's 12th TT Victory

Manx TT star Dave Molyneux secured his 12th victory in the Bavaria Sidecar A race.

Moly and passenger Rick Long had led away the delayed race - which had been due to run on Saturday - but found themselves running second after the first of three laps.

Crowe and Sayle start the Bavaria Sidecar A raceBy Ballacraine on the opening lap it was last year’s victors Nick Crowe and Daniel Sayle who led on time from John Holden and Andrew Winkle. Third were Steve Norbury and Scott Parnell, with Molyneux and Long fourth.

Klaus Klaffenbock stopped to make adjustments at Ballacraine before retiring.

Then the news came through that Crowe and Sayle were touring at Quarry Bends. The pair retired at Sulby.Klaffenbock and Parzer

At the end of the opening lap it was Holden and Winkle who held a 10 second advantage over Molyneux and Long, with Norbury and Parnell third.

On the second lap the race leader went through the Unisys Sulby speed trap at 142.200mph.

By the Bungalow Moly and Long had the gap to the leader down to 3.78 seconds.

Norbury and Parnell under starters ordersMoly went through the Grandstand speed trap at 123.3mph, leading on the roads, but behind on time by a mere 1.86 seconds. Third were Norbury and Parnell.

The gap was minimal at Glen Helen on the final lap, and by Ballaugh Molyneux and Long held a slender 1.99 second advantage. At Ramsey Moly led on the road with an increased advantage of 3.17 seconds. By the Bungalow the difference had extended to 5.37 seconds.

Molyneux and Long took the win by 6.5 seconds from Holden and Winkle, with Norbury and Parnell third.
