John McGuinness is hoping to add another record to his tally.
The Morecambe rider has scored 13 victories at the Isle of Man TT, making him the most successful living solo competitor, and holds the outright lap record after bursting the 130mph barrier during the Senior TT at the Centenary in June.
In September he will be in action at the Oliver’s Mount circuit in Scarborough.
McGuinness will be riding machines supplied by Padgetts of Batley. Padgetts has entered the 250cc, 600cc and Superbike events.
Other TT favourites including Ian Lougher, Chris Palmer and Ryan Farquhar are also due to ride at the 57th International Gold Cup.
The Gold Cup is one of the longest established races on the English calendar, run on the only public road circuit in the country. Entries are pouring in for the Auto 66-organised race meeting and, without a doubt, the 2007 event is attracting one of the best entries seen for many years.
Each of the two-day meeting, on September 15 and 16, will feature at least nine races.
