TT stars are back in action on the famous Mountain Circuit today.
Ryan Farquhar and Ian Lougher, who have both claimed victories at the Isle of Man TT, will be among the 60 riders contesting the Junior Classic race.
Wednesday is the second day of racing at this year’s Manx Grand Prix. It starts with the combined Junior and Lightweight Classic events, featuring 100 riders on 350cc and 250cc machines.
In the afternoon the main Junior race will take place, with plans for a one-lap practice session for Ultra Lightweight, Lightweight and Senior competitors immediately after the race.
A lap of the course by the visiting Vincent-HRD Owners’ Club is scheduled as the last event of the day, before roads re-open at 5pm.
On Monday, the first day of racing, Farquhar won the Senior Classic race on a Paton 500. After a 108.488mph lap, breaking the 1997 record set by Bob Heath, Farquhar refuelled, while Steve Linsdell, Chris Palmer and Alan Oversby carried on past the TT Grandstand.
However, by Ballaugh Farquhar had caught and passed Palmer and Oversby and started cutting the gap to Linsdell. At the halfway stage Farquhar was back at the front.
Linsdell stopped for fuel, allowing Farquhar to build up a 25 second cushion. He took the win, with Palmer second and Linsdell third.
