Isle of Man TT stars will attend the annual dinner of Joey Dunlop Foundation, it has been confirmed.
Sidecar stars Nick Crowe and Mark Cox will be on hand to discuss their move to the HM Plant Honda team for the 2009 TT – the 50th anniversary of Honda’s first year at the event. Their ‘09 teammate John McGuinness, the 14-times TT winner and outright lap record holder, is also expected to attend.
Former World Sidecar Champion Klaus ‘Klaffi’ Klaffenbock will be flying in from Austria for the event, and may reveal the name of the solo rider who will race for Team Klaffi in 2009.
The name of the lucky winner of the replica of the Honda 600 ridden by McGuinness will also be revealed.
The Joey Dunlop Foundation was established in memory of one of the best-loved TT winners, 26-times victor Joey Dunlop. It is planning to create accommodation for disabled people in Victoria Road, Douglas, and is dependent on public support and fundraising efforts to achieve that goal.
The annual dinner, at the Hilton Hotel, Douglas, on January 17th, is one of the vital fundraising events.
Tickets are £30 per person, and include a three-course meal. Corporate tables, seating 10 people, can also be reserved.
