The Isle of Man TT is set to be included in a prestigious book of Cult Locations.
The handsome 400-page volume from Belgian publishers Tectum Publishing will feature more than 150 iconic locations and events from around the world, including the Hollywood sign, The Moulin Rouge, Alcatraz, Red Square, Buckingham Palace, the Sistine Chapel, the Taj Mahal and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Each entry in the coffee table book will be accompanied by high quality images with photo captions and text describing the most famous locations on Earth.
It has been confirmed the TT Races will feature in the book. The section will be illustrated with images captured by Isle of Man-based photographer Dave Collister, plus pictures from the TT archive run by Isle of Man-based Bill Snelling, of Fottofinders.
Tourism and Leisure Minister Martyn Quayle said:
‘We are delighted that the publishers of this premium book have chosen to feature the Isle of Man and the TT races. It is a tribute to the event’s iconic status and enduring appeal.’
Cult Locations, which will initially be published in English, French and Dutch, with further regional editions in other languages likely to follow for worldwide distribution, is the second part of the Cult series, following the well-received Cult Masterpieces.
That volume featured design classics including the Coca Cola bottle and Italian car maker Fiat.
