Sure increases Isle of Man TT support
A host of TT stars were on hand to officially open the Sure Radio TT shop at the TT Grandstand on the opening day of the 2009 festival.
Sure is the Official Telecommunications Partner of the Isle of Man and sponsors the two Sidecar races during the two-week road racing event, but this year is taking its support for the TT to a new level.
The company is providing 15 riders and teams with Nokia 5070 mobile phones to use during the fortnight.
The list of riders includes some of the biggest names at the TT, including Tim Reeves, Nick Crowe, Mark Cox, John McGuinness, Steve Plater, Cameron Donald, Guy Martin, Conor Cummins and Ben Birchall.
Many riders received their mobile phone during the official launch of the Sure Radio TT retail unit at the TT Grandstand.
Radio TT presenters will be broadcasting live from Sure’s retail unit, having installed a fully-functioning radio studio there.
Kent-based Sidecar racer Mark Cox, passenger of Jurby’s five-time TT winner, Nick Crowe, said:
‘Sure’s support of the TT in terms of sponsorship is fantastic, but more so because it extends to a practical level for the racers as well.’
‘The cost to compete in the TT is enormous so support like this is very gratefully received. Thank you, Sure!’
