If the postponement of the first day of racing at the 2009 Isle of Man TT has left you in need of an adrenalin fix, then why not relive some of the blistering action from the awesome practice sessions.
You can now download four complete on-board laps of the legendary Mountain circuit and ride alongside some of the biggest stars in the sport as they take advantage of perfect conditions to push themselves, and their machines, to the absolute limit.
For as little as £1.99 you can download more than 18 minutes of high quality footage letting you get the rider’s-eye view of the TT course – and this is no vintage archive stuff, these are laps filmed within the last few days at TT 2009.
Join 14-time winner John McGuinness for a 128mph+ average speed lap of the 37.73 mile circuit on his HM Plant Honda Superbike. The Morecambe stars’s machine was fitted with a rear-facing camera so, unusually, you get to see the rider at work, rather than the road ahead.
You can see into his eyes as he focuses on putting together the perfect lap, watch how he controls the 1000cc superbike, share the shudders and jolts as McGuinness leaps jumps and masters the bumpy public roads.
It’s been a few years since McGuinness has carried an on-board camera, so this is a rare chance to see a true great at his peak.
You can try before you buy with the trailer HERE, but remember the full download quality is much higher than shown on YouTube.
Next there’s the more traditional view of the TT course, form a camera mounted on the front of Steve Plater’s HM Plant Honda superbike on Thursday evening. It’s a more traditional angle, but this is far from an ordinary lap.
Plater, already a winner at the TT, just keeps getting better and on this run he hooks up an incredible run to complete the lap at an average speed of 128.9mph – and you get Plater’s view to an awesome, and occasionally terrifying, flying lap.
Again, you can view the trailer HERE before you buy the download.
Guy Martin is one of the fastest men around the TT course, but is still hunting that elusive first win in the Isle of Man. If the form he displayed on the incredible lap you can now download is anything to go by, victory is not far off.
Filmed on Thursday evening, this lap lets you join Martin on the Hydrex Honda superbike as he completes the circuit at an average speed of 128.8mph. The camera was mounted low on the bike, on the right hand side, so you not only get to watch his lines, commitment and brushes with the Manx countryside, but you also get to watch the Honda’s front suspension and wheel working overtime on the bumpy Manx roads.
There’s also a trailer of this lap for you to enjoy HERE.
Finally, for the moment, you can join three-times World Champions Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance for a complete lap on-board their sidecar outfit. If you’ve ever wondered what the TT is like for a sidecar passenger, this is as close as you can get without signing up to take part! You don’t have to be a chair fan to appreciate the bravery, skill and determination so clearly on show in this film.
Watch the trailer HERE and you will have to download this breathtaking film.
