A series of important, multi-year commercial contracts were announced at the Official Media Launch of the 2010 Isle of Man TT.

The Isle of Man Government Department of Tourism and Leisure announced the awarding of four contracts associated with the commercial development of the TT.

Duke Marketing will continue to provide the Official TT Website. The contract will include a digital media strategy to help raise the profile of the TT Races across social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, and will continue to be delivered using the iomtt.com domain name.

Duke Marketing Managing Director Peter Duke said:

“We are really pleased to retain the contract and we have exciting plans to upgrade the site.”
“Our strategy is based on offering a worldwide platform for people to follow and interact with the TT and the new site will significantly contribute to growing the profile of the event and the Island.”

North One Sport, a division of North One Television has been awarded the sponsorship acquisition and management contract. The recently formed division has incorporated International Sportsworld Communicators (ISC), and is also the Championship Promoter for the FIA World Rally Championship.

The contract includes sponsorship and licensing elements of the TT Races and Festival.  They will employ on-Island representation to manage local sponsors and commercial partners.

North One Sport Sponsorship Director James Mercer said:

“We are very much looking forward to working with our friends at the TT Races. We have enjoyed an excellent year producing and distributing the exciting action from the Races and will be aiming to take advantage of the global TV exposure by securing local and international partners who are committed to investing in this wonderful property.”

Redpoint PR has been appointed to run the media relations programme for the TT and will be basing the business in the Isle of Man. Redpoint PR has partnered with UK-based agency Motocom to deliver the services.

The company is run by Simon Crellin, the existing TT Press Officer, who said:

“I am delighted to be able to continue to represent this amazing event. I will be moving back to the Island at the beginning of April and will be bringing the business with me.”

Isle of Man-based Mannin Media Group have retained the contract to provide the Official TT Programme and Race Guide, which they have done since the Centenary year in 2007.

The programme includes an up-to-date race guide with full start list, rider profiles, features and interviews as well as a detailed spectator guide.

All of these companies will sit on the newly formed TT Stakeholder Board, which will also include representatives from other commercial partners as well as senior officers of the DTL. The group has been established by the Department so all parties can work together to maximise the economic and reputational benefit of the races to the Island.

Tourism and Leisure Martyn Quayle said:

“I am delighted that we have been able to secure the involvement of these excellent partners as a result of an exhaustive competitive tender process.”
“Their involvement in the TT will significantly contribute to the development of the event and will help us to achieve our long term objectives for the TT and Motorsport on the Island.”
“All of the money generated from the commercial programme is invested back into the event to help fund such essentials as the safety and infrastructure provision we need to make so that we can run the event to the highest possible standard.”
