British music legend Ian Brown confirmed for 2010 TT
One of Britain’s greatest music talents will perform during the 2010 Isle of Man TT, it has been confirmed.
Ian Brown will appear at the Villa Marina, Douglas, on Saturday, June 5, which is also scheduled to be the first day of racing at the 2010 TT.
The former frontman of The Stone Roses is the latest addition to the an enhanced entertainment package for the TT, which has already seen leading stand-up comedians Al Murray and Ross Noble confirmed and plans for a nightly motorcycle stunt spectacular, celebrity quizzes, chat shows, fireworks and much more announced.
More music acts are due to be announced soon.
The Stone Roses are widely acknowledged as one of the pioneering bands of the ‘Madchester’ scene in the late 1980s and early ‘90s, and as lead singer, Ian Brown is one of the most instantly recognisable figures from the movement.
He is credited with influencing many of today’s top bands, such as The Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian and Coldplay.
After The Stone Roses split in 1996, Brown went on to release six solo albums, with four reaching the top 10 in the UK album charts, and scoring 14 top 40 hits in the UK singles charts. His famous works include seminal recordings like My Star, F.E.A.R., Dolphins Were Monkeys and Illegal Attacks.
He is an award-winning artists, including picking up the Godlike Genius award at the 2006 NME Awards and the Legend award at the 2007 Q Awards.
Tickets for the Isle of Man TT concert go on sale at 9am on Saturday, April 3. Priced from £38-£40, tickets are available in person from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal in Douglas or by calling the Ticket Hotline on 01624 600 555. Tickets are not available online.
