It may be all change for TT legend Dave Molyneux as he swaps to Kawasaki power and welcomes new passenger Patrick Farrance – but one thing that won’t be changing is his tyres.
The 14-times TT winner will once again use Avon rubber as he bids to add to his win tally at the 2010 TT.
Manxman Moly said:
“After the result last year, I had to use Avon's again! We’re both really excited about the upcoming season and the Isle of Man TT in particular.”
“We took our Kawasaki-powered outfit out for the first shakedown test last week and, even with a standard motor, it’s feeling pretty good! With such a positive start, I’m really looking forward to the TT races, where I’m hoping to add wins 15 and 16 to my tally”
Victory in the single sidecar race at last year’s TT put Molyneux third on the all-time TT winners list, with the legendary Mike Hailwood.
He is hoping to add to that number in the two Sidecar races scheduled at the 2010 TT, on June 5 and 9.
Avon Tyres has a long and distinguished history in motorcycle racing on two and three wheels. The company manufactured its first motorcycle tyre in 1911 and, since then, champions such as Geoff Duke, John Surtees and Barry Sheene have used and won on Avon. More recently, Avon riders have won 13 Supersport and four Production class championships, as well as Isle of Man TT victories on both three and two wheels.
