The top three in the 2010 TT solo championship

Ian Hutchinson, winner of the dramatic PokerStars Superbike TT on Saturday, heads the solo TT championship as the second day of racing at the 2010 Isle of Man TT gets underway.

The first Monster Energy Supersport race is due away at 10.45am, over four laps, and the Royal London 360 Superstock race is scheduled to start at 2.15pm, also over four laps.

Padgetts Honda rider Hutchinson took victory in the opening race of the 2010 TT, earning 25 points for the championship he narrowly missed out on last year to Steve Plater. Michael Dunlop, second on Saturday, is on 20 points with Superbike third-place finisher Cameron Donald on 16.

Klaus Klaffenbock’s maiden TT win in the first Sure Sidecar race has put him and passenger Dan Sayle at the top of the sidecar championship, leading Dave Molyneux  and Patrick Farrance, on 20 points, and the team of Tim Reeves and Dipash Chauhan on 16.

The privateers’ championship is led by Davy Morgan, who took a tremendous 14th place in Saturday’s Superbike race. His 25 points puts him ahead of Stephen Oates on 20 and Jimmy Moore on 16.

The Mountain Road between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg-ny-Baa was closed before 9am due to an incident. It was due to close at 9.30am. The rest of the circuit is due to be closed by 10am.

It is hoped there will be no delays to today’s racing, but forecasters have warned of rolling sea mist, similar to that which affected Saturday’s programme, and cloud gathering later today.
