The Dainese Senior TT practice lap gets under way

The first action on Thursday at the 2010 Isle of Man TT saw riders take to the Mountain Course shortly after 12.15pm for a lap of practice ahead of Friday’s Dainese Senior TT.

After completing one lap of the 37.73-mile course, the machines returned to the TT Grandstand to make way for the chairs, due out at 1pm for the second Sure Sidecar race. The four lap Monster Energy Supersport 2 TT is due away at 3pm and the one-lap TT Zero race at 5pm.

In the Senior TT practice lap, Wilson Craig Honda-mounted Guy Martin was fastest, with an average lap of 128.525mph, followed by Ian Lougher on the Kawasaki at 127.606mph and Michael Dunlop third with 127.325mph. John McGuinness came through fifth fastest, just behind Ryan Farquhar. Ian Hutchinson, who has won all three solo races so far this year, could only manage 10th fastest, with the Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing of Cameron Donald 11th – his teammate Bruce Anstey was well down the order.
