The scene is set for a thrilling end to racing on the Mountain course at the 2010 Isle of Man TT.

The Mountain road between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg-ny-Baa is scheduled to close at 9.30am, and the rest of the course at 10am as preparations for today’s programme continue.

The blue riband Dainese Senior TT is due to start at 12.30pm and promises six laps of drama as an amazing week of racing comes to and end.

Padgetts Honda rider Ian Hutchinson must start as favourite after taking victory in all four solo TT races so far this year – equalling the record of Phillip McCallen. If he can take the win he will be the first to win five TTs in a week.

However, 15-times winner John McGuinness will be hoping to salvage something from what has been a disappointing event for him so far. The Morecambe rider says the HM Plant Honda Superbike is running well and he is confident ahead of today’s race.

All eyes will also be on Manxman Conor Cummins, who had a massive 20 second lead in Saturday’s PokerStars Superbike race before being hit by mechanical problems. There will also be plenty of fans hoping Guy Martin can claim his first TT win.

Hutchy has already claimed victory in the solo TT championship, but the privateers championship is wide open with James McBride leading with 60 points, Jimmy Moore on 54 and Derek Brien on 46.

Today’s TT climax is due to get under way at 10.45am with a star-studded parade lap, featuring Grand Prix greats Jorge Lorenzo, Loris Capirossi and Angel Nieto, plus famous names from the TT. After the Dainese Senior TT, Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing star Cameron Donald is due to lap the course on Capirossi’s 2010 Rizla Suzuki MotoGP machine.
