Isle of Man TT regular and TTXGP winner Rob Barber has secured backing from Swinton Bikes for the 2013 road racing season.

The 33-year-old is expected to return to the Mountain course for the 2013 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy and said with the support of motorcycle insurance broker Swinton he can fully focus on his racing.

Barber, of Bury, has been racing for more than a decade, starting his competitive career in 1998 and winning his first race at Cadwell Park in 2000.

He has been a regular campaigner at the TT, winning the inaugural electric bike race and recording finishes in the top 21 places four times during the 2012 TT, including 4th in the SES TT Zero race.

Unfortunately, his 2012 season was cut short after he crashed at high speed, breaking his shoulder.

With his shoulder now healed and a new sponsor, Barber is looking forward to the 2013 season.

He said:

“I am delighted to be sponsored by Swinton Bikes, its support means I can put all my focus into my racing and show the biking world what I am made of.”

Anthony Aronin, head of Swinton Bikes, added:

“Rob is a great ambassador for road racing, he is a passionate motorcyclists and we are thrilled to be supporting him during the 2013 racing calendar.“

Barber will be keeping fans updated with a regular blog at www.teamswinton.co.uk.
