Classic TT Day Roars into Life at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham

The Classic TT day at Motorcycle Live roared into life as the ear-splitting sound of  the Valvoline by Padgetts Racing YZR Yamama was fired up by 2014 Bennetts 500cc race winner Bruce Anstey and team boss Clive Padgett on the main show stage.

The large crowd were also treated to the sound of Lee Johnston's Motorsport Merchandise winning MV Agusta and later in the day the hall reverberated to the sound of Steve Hislop's 1992 race winning Norton being started.

Steve Parrish and James Whitham interviewed a plethora of current TT and Classic TT stars including John McGuinness, Bruce Anstey, Conor Cummins and Ian Lougher while yesterday's racers were represented by the likes of Phillip McCallen and Trevor Nation, who was at the event to preview the Norton themed 2015 Classic TT.

The riders also took part in a fundraising auction for Riders for Health while Conor Cummins, John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey teamed up against Trevor Nation, Phillip McCallen and Ian Lougher for the annual question of bikes quiz head to head.

This year's stand showcased the iconic TT trophies, a merchandise retail unit manned by Motorsport Merchandise, travel and accommodation advise operated by Regency Travel and some iconic bikes past and present.  this year's TT experience also included the recreation of the famous Glencrutchery Road start line arch, complete with lifesize mannequin of John McGuinness wearing his full TT gear and sitting astride his 2014 Honda Racing Superbike.

This year's Motorcycle Live show was also an opportunity for Honda to receive the 2014 TT manufacturers award, which was presented on the main stage by the Isle of Man Government's David Cretney, MHK.

A number of TT stars are confirmed to attend during the nine day show including James Hillier, Ryan Farquhar, Dan Kneen, Michael Rutter, Keith Amor, Danny Webb, Jamie Hamilton and Dean Harrison as well as sidecar crews Dave Molyneux and new passenger and fellow manxman Ben Binns, the Birchall brothers and Tim Reeves, who will be announcing his new passenger during next Sunday's traditional 'Mad TT Sunday', Motorcycle Live's dedicated tribute to the TT.
