Telecoms Satellite operator SES backs the Isle of Man TT Races

World-leading telecommunications satellite operator SES is pleased to support the 2013 Isle of Man TT Races. The Manx-based outfit SES Satellite Leasing Ltd is the TT’s ‘Satellite Technology’ Partner.

The company has a fleet of more than 52 geostationary satellites that carries over 5,500 TV channels; that’s 17% of all TV channels broadcast via satellite worldwide. SES satellites are the world’s leading television distribution platform and broadcast the equivalent of more than 100,000 hours of TV programming every day and 1,400 HD channels.  They also provide vital communication services and broadband access to businesses and to government administrations worldwide.

The company is the title sponsor of the ground-breaking SES TT Zero Race, for clean emissions bikes, that takes place on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

To celebrate our involvement with TT Zero we have commissioned artist Rachael Clegg to create a series of unusual prints illustrating the history of satellites and the TT’s telecommunications history. The exhibition, Space Mountain, also features historic TT images from the Getty archive alongside NASA images and a replica of the iconic Sputnik satellite.

Space Mountain will be on display at the Sayle Gallery, Douglas, from May 24 to June 8.
