Biography
Laconic, cool-headed and always Triumph-mounted, Coventry’s Jack Marshall was certainly one of the greats of the TT’s early years, winning once and finishing second twice in the first three TT’s. Indeed, but for a puncture which cost him at least ten minutes, he might well have won in 1907.
Marshall abruptly retired from racing after finishing sixth in the 1910 TT – the last to be held on the original St John’s course – and so never competed over the Mountain Course.
