Biography
Another TT hero who made Manx history in 1988, Irish ace McCallen became the first rider to win a Newcomers Race and a Manx Race in the same year. The first of his eleven TT wins came in 1992 with victory in the Formula 1 and he added the Supersport 600 title as well. He also cemented his name in the TT history books in 1996 when he became the first - and only - rider to win four races in one week - the Formula 1, Senior, Junior and Production - he almost made it five when he led the Lightweight for the first two laps before finishing fourth. It was an astonishing run of form - at his peak McCallen was unbeatable. The following year he returned to the Island and scooped a hat-trick of wins.
