Biography

Michael made his TT debut in 2007, he made the decision to ride in the 2008 races at the last minute, and taking over the injured James McBride’s Phase One Yamaha and finished an incredible 10th in the Senior TT with a fastest lap of 124.773, making him the fastest Dunlop around the TT Course.
Michael’s maiden TT victory came in 2009 when he won the second Supersport Race.
2010 saw the “Micky D” take three podium places – 2nd in the Superbike; a 3rd and a 2nd in the Supersport races and, for good measure, he set the fastest lap in the second Supersport race.
Michael also took 8th place in the Superstock event, but ended the week with a DNF in the blue-riband Senior TT.
In 2011, the Ballymoney man claimed his second TT win riding the Street Sweep Kawasaki in the Superstock race.
Win number three was ample reward for a frustrating TT 2012, beset by mechanical problems in practice. After suffering a number of mechanical problems early in the week Michael recovered to score a well-earned win over Cameron Donald in the second Supersport Race.
Michael is also a regular performer in the Classic Superbike race at the Manx Grand Prix including a victory in the 2012 event.
