Re: Shaun Harris..... Get Well soon

From Shaun's family.

Once again thank you for all the wishes for Shaun's speedie recovery. It is a comfort that so many people he has met and known over the years are thinking of him.

Latest report is that he has come out of surgery after many hours and much work done to his bones but still on the ventalator machine. His condition is still serious but stable.

Thank you to all who have posted good wishes for his recovery.

Michele

cheers all,

Family members of seriously injured motorcyclist Shaun Harris have rushed to his bedside as he remains in a critical condition after crashing during the historic Isle of Man TT race.

Harris, 43, sustained serious injuries when he crashed during Wednesday's TT superstock race but had stabilised, according to his mother Diane Hancock.

"A nurse at the hospital said he smashed his pelvis and broke his right arm and leg, but there were no head injures," Hancock told The Wanganui Chronicle newspaper.

" I'm just praying and hoping he'll be okay but he should get through because he's so strong and healthy. And once he hears (daughter) Petra's voice I hope it will juggle his memory."

Hancock was too ill to travel to the island, where Harris is being treated but other family members including his sister Nikki were making the journey.

"They are being met by an official from the Isle of Man and everything is being organised for them, including their accommodation," she said.

"They can stay as long as they like which is a real bonus."

Petra, four, was already by his bedside.

Harris, who has raced on the Isle of Man regularly since 1991, is a three-time winner and been racing competitively for about 20 years.

"I hate it," Hancock admitted.

"I've only ever seen him race once, that was at Pukekohe years ago."

Just someone who had the pleasure of watching you take the Britten over the mountain and wants to see you on it again one day soon,   in the classic parade maybe?
