Sunshine greets crowds for packed Saturday race day
The Classic TT presented by Bennetts has burst into life on an action-packed Saturday in the Isle of Man.
A frustrating build-up, hampered by frequent changes in weather conditions has put track time at a premium for for Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix competitors alike.
It was a great relief to all to hear Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson announce just after 11.00am that Saturday's schedule f qualifying and racing would commence on time at 11.30.
Classic TT Superbike and Lightweight machines led the opening two-lap practice session on time in close to ideal conditions.
The day's schedule is as follows:
11.30: CTT Superbike and Lightweight, MGP Senior, Junior, Newcomers A & B practice (2 Laps)
12.20: Bruce Anstey lap on Padgett's Honda RCV213
13.00: Bennetts Senior Classic TT Race (4 laps) Start List
14.40: CTT Junior, MGP Lightweight, Ultra-lightweight and Newcomers (all classes) practice (1 Lap)
15.45: John McGuinness - Mike Hailwood 1978 Ducati tribute lap (1 lap)
16.25: Dunlop Lightweight Classic TT Race (4 Laps) Start List
18.10: CTT Superbike, MGP Senior, Junior, Lightweight, Ultra-lightweight, Newcomers (all classes) practice (1 Lap)
