Skerries man Michael Sweeney took four race wins at the Mrs Brown’s Boys East Coast Road Races, round 22 of 25 of the Duke Road Race Rankings Championship 2019.

Hoping to make it five out five, the Republic of Ireland rider was thwarted in the 600cc Championship race by both Michael Browne and Darryl Tweed finishing third, however he has amassed sufficient points to climb to the top of the rankings 281 ahead of 2016 & 2017 champion Dean Harrison with fellow Irishman Derek Sheils still holding onto third place a further 137 points adrift.

A third place in the Senior Support race and a win in the Junior Support race along with a fourth in the Supertwins race elevated Vinny Brennan to 11th spot from 12th as he continues to be top Newcomer of 2019.

A Classic Double in the 350cc and 500cc races maintains Ulsterman Barry Davidson as the leading Classic Only rider in eighth place overall.

The anticipated first national race victory for Melissa Kennedy became a reality when the Ulster rider took the chequered flag in the Moto3 race, a result which lifts her eight positions in the rankings to 40th.

There are no less than 31 changes in positions in the top 40 of the Duke Road Race Rankings after the latest round with a total of 350 competitors having scored points so far this season.
