Artisan Island set to bring gourmet delight to TT fans

Spectators and fans at the Noble's Park Grandstands are in for a culinary journey around the Isle of Man's burgeoning "foodie" scene with a new venture this TT fortnight. 

Artisan island marquee, supporting Manx Farmers, Producers and Fishing sectors has launched at the TT Grandstand.

Six local businesses have come together under one banner “Artisan Island – supporting our farmers, producers and fishing sectors.”

NOA Bakehouse, BallaKelly Farm, The Secret Pizza Company, Betty’s Pies, The Alpine and the Fish House are offering a wide range of locally reared, caught and produced Manx food products many of which have not been easily accessible to TT fans during the festival in the past.

Pastries and pizzas made with Laxey Flour will be available from NOA Bakehouse and the Secret Pizza Co., home grown pork and lamb from BallaKelly farm, locally caught Queenies, crabs and lobsters provided by the Fish House and freshly prepared Manx salads from The Alpine based in Douglas and Betty’s Famous Manx pies, mash and peas will all be on sale in the Artisan Island marquee.

The initiative has been supported by the Food Matters team at DEFA and the Department of Economic Development’s Motorsport Team, helping with logistics and providing advice and guidance on how to operate at the Island’s largest event of the year.

This is the first time that Island food businesses have come together in this way to showcase to the islands residents and TT visitors how wide ranging the islands food sector is at the TT Grandstand. The collaborating businesses have worked together to provide a covered seated area with a unique ambience where residents and visitors alike will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in which to sample the local food on offer.

The ‘Artisan Island’ marquee is open is open from 8am everyday day to late all through the TT Festival and is conveniently situated in Nobles Park, between the two grandstands, close to the public car park and on the thoroughfare to the main grandstand.

The marquee has seating inside and out and is perfect for all weather conditions as well as an excellent view of race winners coming up the return road.
