OK, so the inevitable has happened and the Isle of Man's stunning summer weather has proven to be a bit more... ahem... tepid than we'd like. Not to worry though, here on the 'rock' we're well used to damp days and there's loads of great things to do.

Manx National Heritage has a great collection of motorcycles and paraphernalia at the Museum in Douglas, a fascinating look at the viking and celtic history of the Island at the House of Mannanan in Peel and there's also the magnificent castle in Castletown. There's a special TT pin badge available for £10 which gives visitors unlimited access to all site for the next fortnight.

The Isle of Man Motor Museum in Jurby has a massive collection of classic American and British cars and bikes with some fascinating histories and unusual provenances - PLUS there's a great cafe too!

The A.R.E. Motorcycle Museum in Kirk Michael hosts a fantastic selection of classic British bikes with a particular emphasis on Triumphs.

Isle of Man Transport: The Isle of Man has a wonderful Victorian transport network consisting of electric and horse-pulled trams and a steam-powered narrow gauge railway.
