Biography

After teaming with Mike Hailwood in several Endurance races in Australia on a 750SS Ducati, Jim Scaysbrook came to the TT in 1978 with a Ducati NCR for the F1 race.

The bike was owned by the Australian Ducati distributors and was prepared with some assistance from Sports Motor Cycles in Manchester.

In the F1 TT, Scaysbrook crashed at Governors Bridge when the front carburettor slide jammed open. Later in the week he finished 26th in the Classic TT after a long stop to wire up and secure the exhaust system which had broken.

In 1980 he rode a new TZ500 Yamaha entered by Hailwood & Gould in the Senior TT, finishing 24th and retiring in the Classic TT with gearbox trouble.

In the one-off Historic TT in 1984 he rode a 7R AJS belonging to John Holder. The bike suffered from fuel starvation due to a jamming float needle and he finished 20th.
