Biography
Ray raced over the Mountain circuit 80 times commencing with the Senior MGP in 1962. A win in the 1968 Production TT and 17 Replicas won over classes from Lightweight to Senior. Twice winner of the Naylor Trophy in the Senior Manx Grand Prix.
Competed in International Endurance races. Scored a win in Barcelona 24 Hours on a BMW - 11th o/all, also Le Mans 15th. Rode for Royal Enfield, Ducati Norton and Triumph, plus 'supported' BMW, Suzuki and Honda. Won National and Club Production Championships and scored around 200 race wins.
A journalist race machine tester for several journals over a 36 year-long career. Last rode in the TT in 1994; crashed out from competition on the Jurby Road South circuit. Written books on the TT, racing and a competition biography of Joey Dunlop.
Now retired and is an ACU race school instructor, working for Duke Trackdays and the Andreas Racing Association.
