On April 26th 2007, twelve motorcycle fans will take on a three day challenge that will add an extra 1000 miles to their odometers travelling from Lands Ends to John O’Groats – all on two wheels.
All twelve will self fund their trip with this year’s benefactors being the Manx Grand Prix Helicopter Fund and the Rob Vine Medical Fund.
Avon Tyres and Royal Mail will be providing much-needed support to the 12 riders and they have also received the support from six local road-racing teams but they hope to expand that to 12.
The concept is that each of the 12 riders on this run will carry the race livery of a nominated race team.
They will also carry the livery during the TT Festival giving sponsors a moving billboard on the Island while also assisting a worthy cause.
Irish Racer magazine will be running a feature on the 1000-mile trip and also carrying images of the 12 riders and their branded machines.
All the information for the aforementioned can be seen on www.end2endfund.com with a DVD from the event being produced later this year.
John Hope, (Principal Organiser) and his team will also produce a 2008 calendar with each branded bike being allocated a month of exposure.
This event will be run on an annual basis with additional charities being nominated for 2008 and beyond.
