Ben and Tom Birchall capped a record breaking week of sidecar racing with the first ever lap of the course under nineteen minutes in Friday's Locate.im Sidecar TT Race.

John Holden and Lee Cain were the leading outfit at Glen Helen on lap 1, with a very quick opening sector, and held their lead to Ramsey.

The Mansfield pairing found their pace and took the lead by the Bungalow, and were not headed for the remainder of the three lap race.

On the second circuit the Birchalls took the lead out to over 15 seconds and, more importantly, dipped below the magical 19 minute mark.

The second circuit of the race was made in 18 minutes 59.018 seconds - 119.250mph, smashing their own record from Saturday's race.

Holden and Cain responded with their fastest ever lap at 117.878mph and third placed Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes also joined the 117 club with a lap of 117.729mph.

Those positions remained the same until the finish line.
