The demand to be in the Isle of Man for the Centenary TT is so high an airline has decided to lay on extra flights to help fans get to the Road Racing Capital of the World.

Award-winning UK airline Eastern Airways will operate and additional 12 flights during the TT festival, which starts on May 26, saying the extra services are necessary 'due to high demand'.

The extra flights will depart Newcastle and Birmingham destined for the Isle of Man on May 26, June 2 and June 9.

Eastern Airways' Isle of Man general manager Andy Mathieson said:

'Speed and times are key to winning the Isle of Man TT races and we are providing fast, timely additional services to meet high demand for this spectacular centenary festival of racing.
'Some of our flights are already full during this period, with others filling up fast, and we would encourage people to book early to gain seats on our extra services to and from Newcastle and Birmingham.'

The Saturday services will depart Newcastle at 7.30am, arriving in the Island at 8.30am. The return leg will leave the Isle of Man at midday, landing in Newcastle at 1pm.

The Birmingham flights will leave the Island at 9am, arriving at 10am, with the return service leaving Birmingham at 10.30am and landing in the Isle of Man at 11.30am.
