Hutchy records 192 through speed trap
Conditions for Monday evenings first timed practices session of the 2007 TT were near perfect.
As roads closing time approached skies were mainly clear with the sun shining and a slight breeze. However, practice was delayed for 15-minutes due to a Road traffic accident.
The first session started just after 6:30pm, with Ryan Farquhar and Ian Lougher leading the way, followed by ‘Manxies’ Chris Palmer and Gary Carswell. Ian Hutchinson, on his opening circuit, was recorded at 192.838mph through the Sulby Speed Trap. Martin Finnegan was next through and went on for a second lap.
Hutchinson’s opening lap speed was 122.707mph. Anstey on the Superstock Suzuki recorded 121.350mph.
As the session continued the cloud cover increased.
John McGuinness set the fastest Superbike lap at 124.983 mph. Steve Plater set off for his first lap on the AIM Yamaha Superbike, towards the end of the solo session. Martin Finnegan took the Superstock MV Agusta round at 109.872 mph and stated there was heavy rain in the Sulby area.
Next back Ryan Farquhar said half the course was wet.
Activity increased in the pit lane as the Sidecar crews prepared for their first timed session.
Nick Crowe and Daniel Sayle were first away, followed by Klaffi, John Holden, Steve Norbury and Dave Molyneux. Nick and Daniel’s second lap took 19 minutes 51.60 seconds a speed of 113.988 mph.
