Stars of the Centenary TT will be among those lining up for this weekend’s John Donnan Kells Road Races in Crossakiel.

Guy Martin, who snatched three podium finishes during TT2007 and superb victories at the Southern 100, is just one of the starters. He will be joined by Australian Cameron Donald, who was kept out of the Centenary by injury.

Donald, who won three races at last year’s event and the Man of the Meeting title, is entered in the 600cc, Open and Grand Final events.

Others who have featured around the Isle of Man’s legendary Mountain Circuit and are expected at Crossakiel include Ian Lough of Wales, Martin Finnegan of Lusk and Ryan Farquhar of Dungannon.

Adrian Archibald and Manxman Conor Cummins are also expected, as well as three members of the Dunlop family. Robert Dunlop will be out in the 125cc race and his sons William and Michael are due to appear in the 125cc, 250cc, 600cc, Open and Grand Finals.

This year the Kells Road Races will be started by Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey, who kicked off the very first meeting in Dulane in 1994. David Cretney, the Isle of Man Minister for Trade and Industry will again be the guest of honour.

Kells & District Motorcycle Racing Club Aileen Ferguson said:

‘There are over 170 competitors entered for the races and they are travelling from all over Ireland, the UK, Australia, Isle of Man.’
‘Kells has become the most popular event with both riders and spectators and has gained much respect within the motorcycling fraternity. The club has worked very hard to make this race as safe as possible and all recommendations have been acted on.’
