TT star Ian Lougher will be in action on home soil this weekend, at the Aberdare Park Road Races.

Lougher will ride the Team Black Horse Honda CBR600RR Supersport, the Honda RS250 of Stewart Smith Racing and the Honda RS125 of Matt Jackson around the 0.9 of a mile, picturesque parkland circuit, the only ‘pure’ road circuit in Wales.

Aberdare Park Road Races have been running annually for over half a century, and have played host to many famous names from the world of motorcycle racing – including Mike Hailwood, John Surtees, John Cooper, Neil Tuxworth, Carl Fogarty and Neil Hodgson, to name but a few.

For Lougher it is a return to home soil and he is determined to regain the Welsh Open title for a fifth time, having narrowly missed the title in last year when a mechanical failure forced a retirement.

The races are on Saturday and Sunday, with practice from 9am on Saturday and racing from noon.
