Farquhar splits with McAdoo
TT-winner Ryan Farquhar has split with the McAdoo team on the eve of the Isle of Man TT.
The Dungannon man rejoined the McAdoo Kawasaki team last year. He had enjoyed great success with the outfit in the past and was looking forward to a competitive 2008.
The year had started well. Farquhar was a front-runner at the Bishopscourt races in March and then stormed to two Superbike race victories at Cookstown, despite riding last year’s ZX-10R.
Cookstown also saw Farquhar claim pole position, the lap record and second place in the Supersport 600cc race on the ZX-6R.
The team were running well at Tandragee before the meeting was abandoned after the tragic death of Martin Finnegan, who had earlier been dicing with Farquhar on the way to victory in the Superbike race.
At the North West 200, the last meeting before Farquhar left the McAdoo team, he took eighth and ninth places in the two Superbike races, fifth in Supersport and sixth in the Superstock.

Shortly after the meeting, which was marred by the death of 15-times winner Robert Dunlop, the McAdoo confirmed Farquhar had departed.
A statement said:
‘McAdoo Kawasaki Racing would like to announce the team has parted company with rider Ryan Farquhar.’
It added:
‘Saturday’s North West 200 proved our machines are capable of running with any bikes in road racing and we would have loved to compete at the 2008 TT, but a line has to be drawn at some point.’
‘Any announcements on our future in the sport will be made in due course.’
It is unclear at this stage whether Farquhar will find a new Superbike ride in time for the TT, which starts on Saturday.
He is still expected to ride a 1000cc Kawasaki for Harker Racing in the Scottish Life International Superstock TT and may ride for Kenny Harker in the Relentless Supersport Junior TT races.
