An incredible collection of photographs celebrating 100 years of the TT will go on display in the Isle of Man on Friday.

The Getty Images exhibition opened in London last month, but has transferred to the Island for the TT festival.

The exhibition, at the Ramsey Heritage Centre, was officially opened by motorcycle racing legend Geoff Duke on Thursday night.

It opens to the public at 10am on Friday.

100 Years on the Roads – A History of the Isle of Man TT Races features images from Getty’s extensive archive as well as renowned road racing photographers, and includes pictures charting the TT’s history from the car races of 1904 through to the Centenary event and the record-breaking 130.354mph lap by John McGuinness.

The exhibition has been curated by Murray Walker, the legendary motorsport commentator who has strong links with the TT – his dad Graham was a race winner, he was a long-time commentator and last year he hosted a DVD, TT: Centenary Celebration, examining the 100th anniversary celebrations from the fans’ perspective.

The opening of the exhibition in London’s Oxford Circus was a star-studded event, attended by riders including McGuinness, Guy Martin, Steve Plater, Bruce Anstey and more.
