The sun is beating down on the Isle of Man and the first session of the 2008 TT is almost here.

After months of preparation, the world’s greatest motorcycle race festival is ready for action around the famous Mountain Circuit.

The first practice session is scheduled for Saturday evening, with road closures starting on the Mountain section from 5pm.

From Monday, teams will - subject to weather - have every evening to practice before the first races take place on May 31.

This year’s TT promises to be one of the most competitive, with 13-times TT winner John McGuinness back and lining up alongside the hard-charging Guy Martin, Steve Plater, fresh from his North West success, Ian Hutchinson, Manxman Conor Cummins and many more.

The Sidecar races are also set to be hotly contested, with 13-times winner Dave Molyneux up against fellow Manxman Nick Crowe and three-times World Sidecar Champion Tim Reeves.

There’s also plenty to do off the circuit for those lucky enough to be travelling to the Isle of Man. See the social calendar for details.

If you can’t make it to the TT, don’t worry - you can follow all the action, with live timing updates, news, webcams and more with the TT Live! And TT Live1 Gold subscription packages.
