The Ducati Desmosedici RR

It has been revealed TT winner and four times World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty will ride the awesome Desmosedici RR in the special parade marking the 50th anniversary of Ducati’s first Isle of Man TT appearance.

The parade, featuring an incredible line up of famous faces, will take to the TT Mountain Circuit next Friday, Senior Race Day.

Foggy will ride alongside the likes of Sammy Miller, Paul Smart, Alan Cathcart, Tony Rutter, Trevor Nation, Jamie Whitham, Ian Simpson and Dave Hailwood, son of Mike ‘the Bike’Hailwood – whose glorious return to the TT was exactly 30 years ago.

The RR Foggy will ride is a road-going replica of the Ducati Corse Grand Prix racing Desmosedici GP6 and has been loaned by Winchester Ducati dealer Moto Rapido.

The 200hp Desmosedici, owned by Steve Moore of Moto Rapido, is only one of a handful currently in the country.

Despite its exclusivity – one of only 175 expected in the UK – and its price tag of £40,000, ‘Wilf’, as he’s also known, regularly commutes to work on this MotoGP replica.

However, on June 6 the Desmosedici RR will be transferred from Winchester motorcycle dealer more used to a commute along the M3 to a former World Champion and TT hero!

Fogarty will be riding the’ RR’ around the famous 37 ¾ mile mountain course in front of thousands of fans ahead of the TT’s blue riband Senior Race.

The parade lap will start from the famous start /finish line in front of the TT Grandstand in Glencrutchery Road, Douglas, at 10.45am.

A collection of important Ducati motorcycles is on display at the Grandstand throughout Race week as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.
