If you were not among the tens of thousands of fans who made it to the Isle of Man for the 2008 TT, make sure you don’t miss next year’s festival!

Visiting the Isle of Man TT is a unique experience, and a one everyone should have at least once.

However, if you’ve never been before, planning a trip can be a little daunting.

If you are having trouble knowing where to start, the Official Website of the Isle of Man TT is here to help.

We have put together a basic guide to visiting the TT, with hints and tips on travel, accommodation, spectating and more, plus loads of useful links.

It isn’t intended to be an exhaustive guide, but should certainly help you get started with planning your trip to the Isle of Man.

The TT is always an amazing experience, but the 2009 event is set to be one of the most memorable.

This year’s festival saw some of the best racing in memory, first time victories for Cameron Donald and Steve Plater and a sidecar double for Manxman Nick Crowe.

History was also made by the introduction of a new circuit hosting TT races. The Billown course in the south of the Island was the venue for the re-introduction of the Lightweight and Ultra-Lightweight TT races. The 125cc and 250cc events proved so successful it is hoped they will be repeated next year – although that is yet to be confirmed.

Plus, of course, there was that incredible victory by John McGuinness in the Senior TT.

The win was the 14th for McGuinness around the Mountain course, equalling the record of the great Mike Hailwood and only bettered by the legendary Joey Dunlop.

The Morecambe rider has confirmed he will be back next year as part of the Honda effort

Honda are expected to be a huge part of the 2009 TT as it is a very special anniversary for the Japanese manufacturer, and that should mean some real treats and surprises.
