Unique bike design unveiled for the 2009 Isle of Man TT

The first images of the Suzuki GSXR 1000 K9 Steve Mercer will race at the 2009 Isle of Man TT have been released by thepeoplesbike.com, the team behind the project.
Team owner Mark Cubbon explained the thinking behind the very original layout.
He said:
‘The main objective was to give our personal and corporate sponsors the exposure they deserve, but we also wanted to retain a traditional Suzuki colour scheme.’
thepeoplesbike.com has already sold personal sponsorship packages to TT fans worldwide.
Mark added:
‘The project has transcended all borders and age groups. We have teenage sponsors in Australia and pensioners from Birmingham signed up.’
‘Every morning when I open my email I am amazed how far thepeoplesbike.com project has reached.’
The level of support has enabled the team to contemplate expanding its racing program for 2009.
Mark said:
‘We have received tremendous support from Suzuki GB, Crooks Suzuki, Leo Vinci, Moto GB and R&G racing.’
‘Their support has enabled the team to commit to this year’s Southern 100 and possibly the Ulster Grand Prix.’
‘Later in the year we will try to raise funding to take thepeoplesbike.com team to Macau.’
