Cal Crutchlow is the latest MotoGP rider to confirm they will attend the 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy.

The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 racer will lap the Mountain course alongside MotoGP rival Nicky Hayden, five-time 500cc World Champion Mick Doohan and Ian Hutchinson, who made history at the 2010 TT by winning five solo races in a week.

The Arai Parade Lap, featuring the four star names, is scheduled for June 8.

Crutchlow said:

“As a resident of the Isle of Man I’m obviously aware of the importance of the TT races. I’ve been round the course many times, but I’ve never had the chance to lap on a closed road.”

“I’m really looking forward to experiencing the Mountain course close up.”

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a successful start to his MotoGP career, finishing 11th in Qatar and 8th in Jerez and Estoril. He is 11th in the championship with 21 points after the weekend’s race at Le Mans.

Crutchlow’s rise through the ranks of motorcycle sport has been rapid. He won the 2006 British Supersport Championship and made his British Superbike debut in 2007, scoring his maiden win at Thruxton in 2008 and finished third overall.

In 2009 he won the World Supersport Championship and finished fifth in the Superbike World Championship the following year.

His stunning performance on the world stage saw Crutchlow selected for the exclusive MotoGP grid.

Isle of Man Government TT and Motorsport Manager Paul Phillips:

“Cal approached us when he heard that we were scheduling a parade lap for Mick Doohan and asked if we could accommodate him at the same time.”

“We were delighted to help as he is one of the world’s leading racers and his endorsement will boost the profile of the event in the Mountain course’s centenary year.”
