Critically-acclaimed Isle of Man TT movie Closer to the Edge has received yet more praise – this time from one of the most famous names in Formula One.
Sir Frank Williams, boss of the Williams Grand Prix team, has urged anyone who hasn’t seen the cinema sensation yet to get it on DVD.
Writing in his monthly column in leading motorsport magazine F1 Racing, the 69-year-old revealed he watched the film over Christmas 10 times and described it as ‘unbelievable’.
TT3D: Closer to the Edge followed the story of the 2010 TT, focusing on racers like Guy Martin and Conor Cummins. Critics and fans raved about the movie, which was a hit at the box office and has enjoyed staggering Blu-ray and DVD sales since its release in November.
Sir Frank, whose team has secured 113 Grand Prix wins, seven World Championships for drivers and nine World Championships as a constructor, said in his column:
“If you haven’t seen the documentary Closer to the Edge, go and get it on DVD.”
“It’s about the Isle of Man TT races and it’s unbelievable – I watched it 10 times over Christmas!”
“My family got bored of hearing me say how good it is, so I started telling the dog.”
“Those riders are right on the limit and some of the shunts are terrifying.”
TT: Closer to the Edge is still available to buy on Blu-ray and DVD from the iomtt.com shop.
