The official launch of the 2012 Isle of Man TT, Wednesday, April 18th, will be streamed live by the official TT website iomtt.com.

The launch takes place at the Villa Marina in the Isle of Man’s capital Douglas at 7pm.

To watch the live video streaming, just go to the iomtt.com front page.

Not only will the informal chat show-style evening be featured in live streaming video for the first time, but also videos will be posted on iomtt.com site after the event.

This year the event is going interactive with fans getting the chance to post questions to their favourite riders via the official Twitter feed. The presenters will monitor the questions and include as many as possible in the live interviews with the riders.

All of the solo race winners from the 2011 TT are confirmed to attend, including 17-time victor John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Gary Johnson and Bruce Anstey, while sidecar race winners John Holden and Andy Winkle also feature in the line-up.

The Birchall Brothers, who will be racing for former winner Klaus Klaffenbock’s new team, and 14-time champion Dave Molyneux, returning to competition this year, will also be appearing.

Other race winners from previous years include Ryan Farquhar, who will be hoping for victory in the new Lightweight race, veteran Ian Lougher, competing in his 28th TT, and 2008 double race winner Cameron Donald. Ian Hutchinson will be updating fans on his recovery from injury and last year’s fastest newcomer Simon Andrews will be answering questions about his new factory ride with Honda TT Legends.

Plus, Tyco Suzuki teammates Guy Martin and Conor Cummins will be discussing their hopes standing on the top step of the podium this year.

Several TT newcomers will also be introduced for the first time, including Northern Ireland racer Lee Johnson, Ryan Farquhar’s protégé Jamie Hamilton, Scotland’s Jimmy Storrar and BSB star Karl Harris.

Isle of Man Government TT and Motorsport Development Manager Paul Phillips said:

“The Official TT launch has really grown in popularity and is now part of the annual calendar with fans and journalists looking out for the date.”

“We have decided to make it available to view to our growing audience of global fans to bring them closer to the event and to set the scene for this year’s TT Races.”
