The Isle of Man TT Races worldwide television audience is set to grow to over 30 million viewers in 2013, an increase of over 30% on last year's figure, with new TV distribution deals.

In the growing United States market, Discovery’s Velocity Channel will be taking seven specially-made TT race programmes and screening them within 24 hours of each race.

In the UK, ITV4 will air 14 one-hour TT shows, each at 9pm, including three pre-event specials – an in-depth profile of local rider Conor Cummins; a fascinating study of The Perfect Lap, exploring the fastest sector times with the top riders; and Operation TT – a look at how the Island’s unsung heroes prepare for the TT.

Other new television contracts for this year's event include South American broadcaster TV Globo, the largest broadcaster in Brazil, offering the TT great coverage across the continent.

They will join existing international broadcasters including Network Ten (Australia), and SuperSport (Africa) plus comprehensive coverage across Europe, including; Italy, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and multiple territories in Asia.

Neil Duncanson, CEO, North One TV commented:

'The American deal, with Discovery Velocity committing to show the programmes while the event is still on, is really significant for the TT as it effectively opens up a much greater market for the event. And don’t forget, these one-hour shows are TT and Isle of Man dedicated, designed not only to showcase the event, but also the island’s tourism and business potential, as well as providing a boost for the sale of TT licensed goods.’

Television coverage this year will feature a wider range of filming positions that ever before, not just out on the course but on the bikes themselves, using new onboard camera and data capture technology. State of the art digital cameras, normally seen in the movie business, will deliver highly crafted feature material to complement the race action and will also offer slow motion shots in addition to the 1000 frames per second Hi Motion.  All of this extra material will be managed through an enhanced outside broadcast production centre built in the heart of the paddock.
