Biography
Yorkshireman Chris Petty made his Mountain Course debut in 1986 at the Manx Grand Prix, finishing 8th in the 1000cc Newcomers race on a Kawasaki GPz900r.
He competed at the TT the following year; originally intending to race in the 600cc Production race, but an 11th hour decision to enter the F2 TT race prevented a return to the MGP that same year.
Chris continued racing at the TT with a best finish of 10th in the 1992 400 Supersport TT race on a Yamaha FZR400RR.
His one and only podium visit came during the inaugural TTXGP for electric bikes in 2009 with second place in the Open Class, riding for the US Barefoot team.
A return to the Manx GP in 2008 to compete in the Classic races, was followed by regular visits to the Classic TT from 2014.
