Biography
Frank first rode in the Lightweight MGP in 1964 on a 199cc Triumph but sadly retired on the 3rd lap with machine failure. An entry the following year proved no better when the 250cc Greeves broke down on the Mountain Mile during the opening lap. 1966 proved to be more successful when, on the first Suzuki ever to take part in the Manx, Frank came home in 11th place collecting his first Replica.
In 1967, on the new Suzuki TR250 racer, Frank started the race as favourite after setting the first Lightweight lap at over 90mph in practice on this very quick two-stroke twin. Unfortunately the race was run in atrocious weather causing the organisers to reduce the race distance from 4 to 3 laps and this meant that the winner, Brian Ball, was able to complete the race non-stop putting Frank in a disappointing second place. However, in 1968 fortune smiled when he managed to secure the long awaited win on his 250cc Crooks Suzuki.
